Sometimes, in the course of our daily lives, the inexplicable happens. I don’t perform a technical support function anymore in my job. I used to; that’s for sure. And no one is happier than I that I no longer have to deal with technical support cases. I know there are those of you who do this for a living every day of your lives, and my hat is off to you. I don’t know how you can put up with the untrained masses every working hour of every day without going completely insane.

Periodically, I catch an e-mail or a phone call for technical support. I monitor the tech folks now and then to make sure they are giving our customers adequate support when they need it. A few of these intercepted calls or e-mails are going to wind up here with a header that begins with ‘Tech Email’ or ‘Tech Call’. The reason for this is simple: They are scary, hilarious, ridiculous, ominous or in some other way hysterical or cautionary and should be provided as lessons to everyone else. If nothing else, I hope they prove amusing and entertaining, if not thought provoking.
